Birth Tub & Birth Pool Rentals

There are currently two options for birth tub/pool rentals available, on site heated Aquadoula Tubs and inflatable Birth Pool in a Box Birth Pools. Although both the tubs and pool facilitate waterbirth and are designed specifically for that purpose there are many differences and some similarities between the two options.

  • Inflated padded floor - no cover
  • Storage on site not available
  • Uses Disposable Liner, included
  • All necessary equipment included

  • Pickup shortly after birth required

Full Service Birth Tub Rental Includes:

  • Use of an AquaDoula® Portable Spa for Labor and Waterbirth. ™
  • An assessment of your intended location to ensure compatibility with the rental equipment.
  • One hygienic disposable tub liner (required for use).
  • Scheduled delivery and set up four to six weeks or less prior to your estimated due date.
  • When filled with hot water the Aquadoula typically ensures temperature maintenance through the heating element with no action on your part. For prolonged use for more that several days using GSE drops to maintain water cleanliness may recommended. Please check with your provider for precautions.
  • All clean up and sanitation tasks, and removal of tub.


Client Responsibility:

Request tub delivery anytime within the four to six weeks prior to your due date. After birth call to arrange for clean up as soon as is convenient. If the tub is damaged while in your possession due to your negligence, you will be billed full current retail value plus shipping for the replacement. AquaDoula tubs are designed to withstand many many uses and are very resilient. Common sense precautions will usually prevent accidents from happening.




Full Service Inflatable Birth Pool in a Box MINI Rental Includes:

  • Use of a Professional Grade MINI Birth Pool in a Box ECO. (65"x57"x26". Water capacity of 127 gallons.) OR a La Bassine ® Water Birth PRO birth pool (65" x 53" x 30". Water capacity of 118 gallons)
  • An assessment of your intended location to ensure compatibility with the rental equipment.
  • One hygienic disposable pool liner (required for use).
  • On-call delivery and set up within 90 minutes of being called. In the event I am unable to personally deliver pool within a reasonable period of time (ie I am attending another birth) I will arrange for a back-up to deliver a pool.
  • Water temperature maintenance during labor and birth if I am attending your birth as your doula or assisting your midwife.
  • All clean up and sanitation tasks, and removal of pool.


Client Responsibility:

Call as soon as you are sure labor has begun so delivery can be arranged. After the birth call to arrange for clean up as soon as is convenient. Professional grade birth pools are made with very resistant and durable phthalates-free vinyl. Common sense precautions will usually prevent accidents from happening.




Here are a few reminders for both pools and tubs:
  • Keep pets away from the pool at all times.
  • Be mindful of children and their toys near the pool.
  • Prepare the floor where the pool will be. Vacuum and/or sweep thoroughly to remove sharp objects.
  • You are responsible for protecting floor from any wetness with towels and/or a tarp if desired.
  • Take care when handling the pool.
  • Remove jewelry prior to using the pool.
  • Keep scissors, needles, and any other sharp objects away from the pool.
  • Do not set candles, anything with an open flame, or anything that emits heat on or near the pool.





Payment & Refunds

The fee structure for pool and tub rental services as described:
  • Aquadoula: $300 (Including $50 deposit)
  • Birth Pool in a Box: $200 (Including $50 deposit)
  • In Hospital Use: +$75 (Added to typical rental fee)
  • Other Services Client Discount: -$50
  • Doula Services Client Discount: FREE!


A non-refundable deposit of $50 is due along with a completed service agreement in order to reserve your pool or tub. Any remaining balance is due at 36 weeks. Refunds will not be issued for any circumstances beyond our control which leads to the pool not being used for the birth (i.e.: complications during labor, you choose to birth outside of pool or you fail to provide adequate time for delivery of pool). Clients contracted for other qualifying services receive a discount on pool rental services as stated above.
